Sure, talking to animals, insects, you name it, is kinda cool. But that’s not what this story is about. First, let me introduce myself. My name is Frida and I live in a really tiny cottage where I have to sleep on the ground. Also yes I’m poor, but that doesn’t mean my life is terrible . We still have food and water and other things, it’s just that we have very little. I spend most of my time in the woods with my ant friends and animal friends. Until something weird happened, Let me tell you what happened…
[[paragraph 2]]It all happened when I was playing in the woods and when I was done and came back home my parents were gone! I looked everywhere but I still couldn’t find them. But then I realized they were kidnapped! I was freaking out, I didn’t know what to do so I ran to the ants in the woods to ask for advice. It took me a while because it was so dark and dim and the wind felt freezing on my skin and I could feel goosebumps! It was close to night and the tall trees that looked like about 100 feet covered the light. The only light I could see was from the sunset which I could only slightly see through the trees. It was so dark I had to feel my way around to find the ants. I had to get on my knees and the dirt felt humid on my knees. Finally, I felt the ant hole and I found them. I explained to them what happened and how my parents disappeared out of the blue and for no reason and then I asked with a tremble in my voice, “What should I do?” it sounded like I was about to cry. But they told me to wait until next week to make sure if they were kidnapped or went far north to find food. So that was what I did.
[[paragraph 3]]The next morning I got an uneasy feeling that my parents were in trouble and that I should find them. So what I did is I told the ants, “I’m starting to think my parents are in trouble,” but they told me it’s my choice whether or not I should go or not.
OPTION A: [[ Go on the guest to find your parents]]
OPTION B: [[Stay and wait for them to come. ]]
After that, I started packing food and getting ready, the only problem was that I didn’t know where north is. I started freaking out I knew the ants weren’t that intelligent to know exactly where north was. I was always a girl with really bad anxiety and will start panicking at the most stupid moments. But this time wasn’t stupid. I’m also fifteen and I act like a five-year-old. I always hated being scared, I’m even scared of tiniest spiders ever! I was panicking for what felt like forever. It felt like my heart was about to explode out of my chest, and I could see my breath in the cold until it felt like the world froze, “I remember!” I shouted. My parents always kept the compass under the pillow. The only thing is if the compass wasn’t there that meant that their safe because they never leave without it. I slowly walked towards the mattress on the floor, the wooden planks felt cold suddenly. The air was quieter than ever. It felt like there was no air but still the room was below freezing. The closer I got the darker the room got until I got to the mattress. I picked up the pillow slowly. Even the pillow was cold! As I looked down I saw the compass! It was right there! But the only down part was that my parents are in trouble after all. I was right! I had to save them. I grabbed the compass, but on my shoes and ran out of the house.
[[next]]You decided to stay and wait for them, im probably being too overprotective about the point you tell yourself and stay home. Its been over two months and you ran out of food. You don’t know how to hunt and less know where the city is. Now you lost track of time and don’t know how long its been since you ate. You starve to death without ever knowing what happened to your parents and dying a very sad deathLater I realized I didn’t say goodbye but I had more concerns than that at the time than to go back and say goodbye. Right before I crossed the road I realized that I’ve never been past the point where there were no more trees, the soil wasn’t moist, and there were no animals. I honestly was kinda scared and I didn’t know what the city looked like at all. It took me a while to gather up my confidence and cross the road. I took one step and I did it! I crossed the boundary! The road was really rocky and hot It burned to touch. I realized I was wasting time and continued walking. After a while, I was starting to get sweaty and really thirsty but I only had a little water that I didn’t wanna waste already. So I saved it for later. After what felt like an hour I could see the city! I started running till all I could see were tall buildings and streets full of cars. I started walking to see if I can find clues until I started getting a weird feeling like I was being watched. I started walking faster and as soon as I started walking faster I could hear footsteps but they weren’t walking they were running! I looked back to make sure, as I looked back saw men running towards me, they had long black coats and you couldn’t see their face. I started running and I didn’t know where to go. But all of the sudden I felt a tingling in my neck I look down and its Chase the ant! I yelled, “ what are you doing here!”
[[continue]]“I was worried and thought you might need help!” he responded
“How will you be able to help me!” I yelled at him
“How about you look inside your bag,” he said
“What do you mean?” I said confused
“Take a right to the ally way then pull out the bottle of acid I put in there,” he told me
I was confused but I had to make a choice quickly.
OPTION A: [[do what your told and go to the ally way.]]
OPTION B: [[don’t listen and keep running in the direction you are running.]]
I was getting really anxious and didn’t listen to what Chase told me instead I kept running passing the ally way and going into what seemed like a food court. I kept running passing the crowd of people and the food stands. I was running so fast I even made a woman drop her hotdog. I kept on running until I got to a dead end. This time I took off my backpack and in there was an acid bottle. I took it out and held it. “Now what do I do!” I yelled.
“Throw it at them!” he demanded.
[[next paragraph]] “Ok…” I responded. Then I closed my eyes and threw it. I heard a shatter and the men screaming in agony. I opened my eyes and I run around them back to the streets. Once I get about 30 feet away from the ally way I start walking again.
“That was a close one,” said
“Mhm,” I replied. “But the only thing is that I still have to find my parents,” I said.
“Yeah…” he said. “But maybe those men had something to do with them,”
“Maybe…” I responded. “But even if they do we lost our chance to find them.
[[keeps walking]] I was getting really anxious and didn’t listen to what Chase told me instead I kept running passing the ally way and going into what seemed like a food court.
[[next->next paragraph]] Silence took the air for a good two minutes until he yelled,
“There they are!”.
“Who!” I shouted.
“The men, there they are!” he shouted again.
[[respond]]“Where!” I said again almost relieved but scared at the same time. He pointed towards a barbershop, and there were the men. Pretending to look at newspapers but really they were watching us. So I tried to look like I haven’t noticed them. I don’t think they saw us yet because they kept taking glances over the newspapers and looking around like they were trying to spot us. To prevent them from spotting us we hid behind a bench and looked through the holes. A while later they gave up trying to look and got up to leave. “This is our chance,” I whispered.
[[contineu->next?]]“Let’s go then,” he whispered in return.
We got up and followed them to wherever they were going. We followed them until we got to this normal looking house. Of course, no one would have suspected anything I thought. We hid in a bush in front of the house and watched them. The bush had thorns that felt like they were digging through my skin. Some might of even cut me. It was hard to breathe through the small breathing holes in the bush. I felt like breathing through a straw. I was even afraid that one of the men might hear me. But none did out of the three men. We waited till they went to the back of the house. We couldn’t see them so we had to move to a different bush. Before we got into another bush on the side of the house where we could see them I whined, “do we have to get in?”. As soon as I said that I jumped into the bush realizing that I said it out loud.
[[continues]]
“Coast is clear,” I said
“Ok,” Chase said, “let's go find your parents!”
I nodded and we headed trowded the spot where the men climbed down the ladder. When we reached the spot where they uncovered the hole I stopped and stared at it.
“Why did you stop?” Chase asked.
“Even if my parents are down there we'll never be able to beat the men,” I responded
He paused then asked, “what makes you say that?”
“I'm just a girl and your an ant against a bunch of men,” I responded
“But your not just a girl, your a strong, smart, and confidant and many other things girl,” he said with a smile
I smiled then said, “ thank you Chase, you really know how to cheer me up.”
“Anytime” he replied
[[keep going]]I picked up the patch of grass and climbed down. I counted the steps as we went down, there were exactly 35 steps but that doesn't matter. When we finally reached the bottom there was a long hallway, we followed without saying a word. As we got closer I could hear voices. “Do you hear that?” I whispered. I made sure I was quiet this time.
“Hear what?” he whispered in response
“ the talking,” I replied
“What talking?” he was confused at this moment
“Listen closely,” I said. We stopped and listened.
“I hear it!” he whispered “we're getting closer,”
[[walk twordes the sound]]We kept walking closer to the sound until we got to two wooden doors. One to my left and one to my right. I pressed my ear to the one on the right to see if they were in there, and as I suspected I was right. The only problem was what were we supposed to do now? I tried asking Chase, “ what do we do now?” He looked up and said,
“Maybe we can climb throw that vent,”
“Your right” I exclaimed “your a genius Chase,”
“I know” he said legs crossed
I laughed. But still confused why there's a vent under ground. “But even if that works how will I get up there?” I asked. Chase thought for a minute than said,
“What if we look in the other room to see if anything if high enough to get you up there,”
[[say something]]“Hmmm, maybe,” I responded. We to the door on the right and opened it and Chase said there were a few stuff to help me get up there. It looked like a bar or the place where they would celebrate. I was confused why because clearly none of the things they did would not be disturbing to celebrate. But surely enough there where a lot of chairs. I got on to test if it would be high enough to get me up there but it wasn't. So instead I stacked up five and it was high enough. I climbed through the vent and it was really dusty I wanted to cough and sneeze like 100 times but held it in knowing if i did they would hear me. My hands and knees were really dusty. It was really dark but I could see enough to know where I was going. There was no air but somehow it was cold. I had goosebumps all over me I could even see my breath when I blew. I kept crawling until there were two ways to go. One led to the right the other kept going straight. I choose the one to the right because that is where I heard the voices more clearly. I kept crawling until it led us into the room and I could look down. There were the men talking and in the middle were my parents! I was mad but if I jumped down there I would ruin everything. They were tied up in chairs back to back.
[[listen]] I kept watching when one of the men said,
“What do we do with them know boss?”
“Feed them to the wolves in the forest behind the house,” said the bigger one who was probably the boss
They untied my parents from the chairs and started heading to the doors. “What do we do know!”I whispered to Chase.
[[next->idk]]“ jump down there and hit them with your bag while you do that I’ll bite the rope off from your parent’s wrists,” he said
I hesitated I never have hit someone before. I thought about it until I made a decision.
OPTION A: [[jump down there and save your parents.]]
OPTION B: [[watch as your parents are being pulled out of the room.]]
Right when they were about to open the door, I jumped down and knocked the guy who had my parents out.
[[see what happpens]]
Your hesitant and say, “there has to be another way! Do you have another Idea?”
“No, but maybe we wait for them to go outside and then, we take action,” he said
“Maybe that would be a better idea,” you respond. You turn around and go back to the surface and wait until they are close to the woods. Then you sneak up behind them.
“Now do it,” said Chase
You hesitate but do so and knocked the guy who had your parents out
[[continue->see what happpens]] Another came behind me and tried to grab me but I swung my bag and he was conscious. In the meantime Chase started biting the rope off from my parents wrists. I had knocked all of them out and Chase had cut the rope and my parents were free! I asked them what happened but the told me that they forgot to leave a note and on they way of returning from getting food they were kidnapped. We were about to leave when I felt someone grab my shoulder and push Chase of. “Chase!” but he was okay but it didn’t look like it. He fell too far down and was dying! “Your not okay we have to get out of here! But instead he said no
[[see what he says]]“Throw the other bottle of acid! He yelled
“But what about you!”
“Don’t worry about me your parents are more important than me, go!”
I didn't know what to do! It’s either I throw the bottle or I grab him and try to escape.
OPTION A: [[throw the bottle to see if you can save your parents.]]
OPTION B: [[don’t throw the bottle and try to escape.]]
I didn't know what to do so I threw the bottle the boss was screaming in agony but i didn’t care he deserved it. We ran out and we got to my house again. I dropped to the ground and started crying my best friend was gone! But I knew he wanted me to be happy so I didn't cry for long. Later in life I became a police officer `1to help my parents and other people. Me and my parents finally raised enough money to buy a new house! That's my story thank you for reading!
THE END You choose not to throw the bottle and you ran over to try to grab Chase and run away. But you didn’t notice that one of the men woke up. So when you try to run away he grabs you by the arm and ties all of you up. So in the end you get feed to the wolves after all.
