Never Done Again
Hi, my name is Sally I’m 12 years old, and I live in an extremely loving household, I have done so many fun events with my family, Such as birthday parties, my mom and my brother made our own costumes together, we've even tried to stay 24 hours on our balcony, but the top thing is when my mom surprised me with a dog for my 11th birthday. I live with my brother Sam, my mother Laura, and my dog, Potato. My father passed away when I was 6, he fell off of a 300ft bridge that we liked to walk on together when we would get ice-cream after school. I miss him and wish he could still be here, he has missed out on so many activities we have done as a family.
Today is Saturday, finally the weekend, and today I decided to take my mercurial dog, Potato for a walk.
Option A: [[ Use a treat to bribe Potato to follow Sally? ]]
Option B: [[ Pull the leash as hard as you can until you can get Potato up? ]]
I tied the leash onto the doorknob and walked to the kitchen. I climbed up onto the counter and grabbed a bag full of dog treats. I grabbed one treat and but the bag back, hoping not to fall off. I walked back to the front door and held the treat over Potato's head. I untied the leash hooked onto the doorknob and started walking out the door with the treat leading Potato into lifting herself, following me.AT LAST! I finally got Potato out of the house and onto the tedious grey sidewalk. Why can't people add food coloring or paint when they make concrete? I mean wouldn't that make sense? Anyways, after about 20-30 minutes and 20-30 times having to stop and pick up Potato’s poop, I started to head back home.
[[Passage 4]] I quickly pull on the leash as hard as I can, scraping Potato's body onto the concrete. Potato starts to whimper. I keep on dragging Potato across the concrete. The neighbors look at me like I’m crazy but I ignore it. Finally, Potato stands up on her own and starts walking along that way I don’t have to pull the leash for her to go. Potato whimpers more and before I know it, she plops herself back on the ground. I yell at Potato catching her attention. She sits down as I tug on her collar. I’m barely 5 feet away from my doorstep and Potato is now deciding to stand up again and move.AT LAST!
[[Passage 4]] While I was walking, I saw an adorable peach- colored cat with dark brown lines, almost like a tiger. Potato ran off, leash snapping and falling to the ground.
Option A: [[ Chase after Potato? ]]
Option B: [[ Go straight home and ask Sally’s mom for help? ]]
I try to chase after Potato, but I just can't get my hands on her. She keeps running, not stopping to look back, hunting the cat.
[[Continue]] I run home faster than ever immediately trying to tell mom what happened. When I get to the front door I spam the doorbell for my mom to come and open the door. She opens the door and I tell her what happened begging her to help me find Potato. She tells me that she is busy and that she still has more work to do. I angrily slam the door shut and try to look for Potato. I run around the whole street shouting out Potatoes name.
[[Continue]] Great. Now I’m screwed. I'm stray and my dog is gone, what else is on the list of making my day any worse than it already is? I felt icky inside. My mom always told me not to take Potato too far away when I walk him, she even told me not to go too far away from myself. But today I did. Now its dawn and it's getting dark. Around me are nothing but dead trees and dark houses like going through a spooky road on Halloween night with no one at home and no trick or treaters around.
[[Next]] Eventually, I ended up finding a big house with two stories and a garden in the front of her yard, the lights of the house were on. It had stunning red roses, difficult to see from my distance.
Option A: [[ Go up to the house and ring the doorbell? ]]
Option B: [[ Just keep on looking for Potato ]]I started seeing a shadow coming from the window at the top of the door, I started seeing the top knob lock move in the other direction and the door came to an open with an elderly woman. She smiled and kindly asked if I was lost. I explained to her what had happened and asked if I could use her phone. She walked to the living room and grabbed her phone. She turned it on and went to the dial page. She handed it to and I punch in my mom's phone number. My mom finally answered and I told her everything that happened. My mom tells me that she is on her way.
[[Continue :)]] I keep walking in fear that something is going to pop up in front of my face. I keep walking down the halloween-looking-road trying to find Potato. I hear something coming from a bush but it ended up being a stray cat. Some random guy asks if I’m lost and tell him I need to borrow a phone to call my mom. He hands me his phone and I dial my moms number and explain to her that i really need her come pick me up. She tells me she is on her way and I handed the man his phone back and thank him.
[[Continue :)]] I sit at a random public bench and wait for my mom to come.
[[Stay seated and wait for mom to come?]]
[[Walk back up the hill toward moms house to find her faster?]]A little later, I see two bright, white lights and immediately stand up. My mom rushes me into the car and gives me a long lecture about why it is a bad idea to go off and wander around. She finally started driving down the neighborhood. I glimpse a small shadow slowly approaching.
[[Tell mom to stop the car and find out what the shadow is?]]
[[Ignore the shadow and letting mom drive?]]I walk back up the scary hill, toward my mom’s house, hoping she will find me any faster. I start running as fast as I can and eventually sit down on the nasty floor to catch my breath. A little later, I see two bright, white lights and immediately stand up. My mom rushes me into the car and gives me a long lecture about why it is a bad idea to go off and wander around. She finally started driving down the neighborhood. I glimpse a small shadow slowly approaching. I quickly tell my mom to stop the car. I slowly open the car door and come towards the shadow. It’s Potato! I quickly grabbed her and put her in the car. When we got home, I rushed into Sam’s room (my brother) and told him that I found Potato. The next day I went to go get Potato a new collar and leash. After coming home and putting Potatoes collar on I took her on a walk again, but this time, I went with Sam.I quickly tell my mom to stop the car. I slowly open the car door and come towards the shadow. It’s Potato!
[[Next :)]] Sally’s mom keeps driving fast. SPLASH!!!! A puddle of blood appears all the windshield. I quickly ran outside to see what we ran over. It’s Potato! Sally cries, tears flowing down her shirt to her knees.
[[Next :)]]When I get home I quickly rush into sam's room and tell him what happened. The next day everyone talks about the tragedy.
