Ant's Journey

“FREAK!” they shout. I mean they’re right, I really don’t belong here. The ant with 7 legs with 3 eyes and 4 mandibles. I mean I’m not ugly, they were put in reasonable places the extra leg and one side and the eye is hidden somehow, I don’t know how this works. I’m Aph the ant with extra body parts. I’m not kidding, I have extra body parts and it how I was born. Lucky me. I was nearly thrown out of the colony but luckily the queen accepted me. Some of the ants I learn (Yes I'm a kid get over it.) with are scared. Because I have another pair of mandibles, they are one of the reasons I was kept, because I can twice as much work than an average young ant. We hear the call of a colony meeting, we walked to the biggest place in the nest and waited for the queen. The nest is really big, it’s a log We are aphaenogaster fulva ants, so we live in logs in meadows and we live here because we know how to not drown when it floods and we have two parts underground and the log. The queen arrives. She marches up and starts a speech thanking us for coming, not like we had much choice. Then she started with the big stuff. At first I zoned out looking around the room. The dirt tunnels, rocks forming the throne, THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of ants surround me. Then she says something that brings me back. [[Continue->PP2]]

A ... War.. and she’s sending a patrol to take it down. She calls out for volunteers, no one answered her call. “ Fine, I’m drawing names and all though this is mostly adults we will have 2 children be drawn from the jar.” she looks at me with sadness and at that moment I knew one of them was me. I mean come on, she picked up a basket woven from grass and pulled out a leaf and said “Jay Henderson.” She continued “Alex Broadry, Alyssa Quinn, and for the last ant, Aph Rodi.” I walk up, my legs feeling like twigs, as I step up, my ears roar and I feel another ant bump into me. I look around the crowd and see hundreds of ants, I forgot how many ants our nest held. [[raise your voice]] [[Let it go]]

You fall behind into the water. You end up in a cavern, with other Leafcutter ants. "She probably won't be helpful.Kill her." a voice boomed [[Restart->choice one]]

"NO!, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED! SENDING CHILDREN TO DO SOLDIERS DIRTY WORK!" I yell. "THEN LEAVE YOU,YOU FREAK!" It turned into a chant "FREAK! FREAK! FREAK!". Suddenly the log shook. I knew what was happening, my head was screaming to run.We run but an ant I know falls behind. [[Next->choice one]]

I walk up, my legs feeling like twigs, as I step up, my ears roar and I feel another ant bump into me. I look around the crowd and see hundreds of ants, I forgot how many ants our nest held. Suddenly the log shook. I knew what was happening, my head was screaming to run. We did our procedure. Adults in the back and younger ones upfront BUT MY LUCK had me staying with the adults. Though something is wrong, this can’t be happening. It’s summer, there are hardly any floods. And then that’s when I see it a hole the size of a tiny humans fist in the roof, my heart starts to pound and my ears roaring with the adults shouting commands. I look up before the water flows and I see faces. The cruel faces of ants. Leafcutter ants. What do they want with us, we eat completely different things, we eat something called elaiosome we get it from a plant. They eat fungus (blegh), so why are they attacking us? We run but an ant I know falls behind. [[Next->choice one]]

You try to drag Allison along, she looks at you and says one word,"Goodbye." She lets go, and that's the last time you ever saw her face. [[Continue-> Field]]

I stand there seeing what has become of my home, and how I failed, out of all the times I had to fail this is one of them, I feel like a storm is bursting out of me and the team look at each other, “Well we're alive." I say hoping to cheer them up. They stared at me. I could see around us, the ant families are grieving. I walk around and see children panicked while their caretakers trying to calm them down. I watch the blades of grass go from windy to calm in a matter of seconds. It’s like the attack. [[Next-> Meet memebers]]

“Well this is quite the meet’ greet.” I say. “You think your funny you tiny freak!” growled Jay. He was practically steaming, he looked at me, “YOU FAILED TO SAVE ALLISON! SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE YOU HAD TO PROTECT AND YOU FAILED!” I felt ashamed and sad. “HEY LAY OFF!” said a steely voice, my heartfelt like stone and an icy chill was sent down my exoskeleton I turned around to Alyssa WHO THANK GOD wasn’t talking to me she marched up to Jay “She is only a child and you are a full grown ant who is acting like one.” she said with a firm voice, Jay slightly recoiled. Alex said “We have two choices, run away or fight.” “ WE FIGHT” me and Jay roared. We looked at each other with disgust, “ We actually agreed on something.” I said nearly gagging. “We need to infiltrate and get rid of the queen. “ Alyssa said “ How about finding their crib first?” said Alex “ THEIR WHAT??” Alyssa screamed. “The crib, their home,” Alex said cooly “Well, scouts report nothing from south so east?” I asked [[Continue->journey]]

“ Sounds like a plan,” Alyssa said. We trekked through the fields and so on and so on and so on, it felt like an eternity finally we came against an ant who, who looked like a leafcutter ant but like, like me. I was stunned, I need to know who they are. I sprinted forward, not thinking. The ant looked at me, and I froze just realizing what I did. Crap. I start to back up when the ant started jabbering away. “WAIT, who are you? How did you get like this? What ant are you?” the ant asked in a squeaky voice, like when you are scared but have enough courage to speak. Cute, WAIT NO FOCUS. “Well I’m Aph and WE are Aphaenogaster ants, y'all can come out, the coast is clear. Anyway with me, I havee Jay, Alyssa and ALEXXX.” “ Next time kindly do not reveal us please, like bro we are on something called a STEALTH mission,” Alex said with a click “Was that sarcasm my friend?” I said with smugness “ Alex is right, you are lucky there’s no one nearby” Alyssa said “ Stupid Aph” Jay grumbled as he walked out of the bush “I’m Dani-el and I’m a Leafcutter ant and I am willing to do something despicable.” he stuttered. Again cute, AHHH FOCUS. He led us to his nest, OH LORD it is GIGANTIC, literally, I would have been lost without him. We stalked through the nest coming to a stop . [[Continue walking->armory]]

We stopped at the most amazing place in THE WHOLE FREAKING WORLD. An armory, with solid mandible sets. Me and Jay practically squeal. Solid steel mandible sets, I run forward looking at the one encased and encrusted with jewels, I literally almost cried. “ These are beautiful” I said in awe “ Like you.” Daniel and Alex said at the same time “Shut it.” I snapped. There is a jewel set and a other solid steel sets. [[Next-> CHOICE 2]]

Solid steel mandible sets, I run forward looking at the one encased and encrusted with jewels, I literally almost cried. “ These are beautiful” I said in awe “ Like you.” Daniel and Alex said at the same time “Shut it.” I snapped “ I CALL THE JEWEL ONE!” I said “ I don’t know about that. That one has an old legend. Apparently the wearer, if they are worthy, are overpowered and are to be granted ONE wish.” ONE WISH? Oh imagine I could get rid of my weird legs and eyes and be normal. You go for solid steel sets when Jay says “ I want the jewel one.”, you change your mind and take the jewel one. That’s when Daniel told me about legend. [[Next-> uh oh]]

“DANIEL! WHAT ARE THESE, THESE INFIDELS DOING IN MY ARMORY?!” a giant ant said as I weakly turn around “ I brought them here so I can kill them, my queen” Daniel says COMPLETELY NEUTRAL “ Oh jolly good! Bring me their bodies after you are done.” she left and I was horrified. I shouldn't have trusted Daniel. “Quick grab sets and let’s go get rid of that VILE EVIL SON OF @#$#@@” “Alright” all of us said at the same time. Me and Jay gagged again while getting my sets I saw a pitch black crown with a matching set of mandibles. Looked scary, didn’t want to touch them. I grabbed the jeweled set and another set with solid steel spikes. [[Next-> Throne room]]

We marched to the throne room like I’m not kidding there is actually throne and the place was decorated with leaves draping down but they seemed wilted and there were different kinds of leaves making our path to the throne. The queen looked surprised at our arrival but not angry. “ So you arrived. I knew Daniel was a traitor because all freaks are. Well I’m giving you one last chance Aph, come with us and I’ll grant your wish. Begone of those things that make you a freak.Come with me and I know who the worthy one is, and I will make them grant your wish. So join me and I can bring what was her name, ALLISON back.” I felt so tempted but I fought but it kept draining my energy. [[Go to the dark side.]] [[Fight it]]

You go to the queen and say “ Fine, you win.” “Wrong choice.” she laughed and she killed you. [[Restart-> Throne room]]

“BRING ALLISON BACK!” Jay screamed and charged at the queen. She looked at him and laughed she flicked him away and the other ants charged and were flicked away like flies. Rage filled me, all the things that happened, the teasing, losing Allison, everyone calling me a freak, the people I care about being pushed around. The jewels on in front of me glowed and suddenly everything in slow motion, I could see the queens move ahead of time, I dodged and struck with as much force as I could with both mandibles. She shrieked in pain, swiveled around and hit me with her abdomen with so much force, I was knocked back halfway across the room. I looked up and screamed “ I WISH THAT YOU WERE GONE AND MY FRIENDS WERE HEALTHY!” a flash hit the room and my friends were up and the queen was slowly disintegrating before my very eyes and I said “If we die, you die with us. But we stay because we are STRONG we do not follow the ways of cruelty.” As the last parts of her floated away. All of a sudden the leaves on the walls brightened and the leaves on the ground were also brightening. It’s like they are connected to happiness or evil. [[Next->jbh]]

As we journey back home, Daniel pulls me away. “T-thanks for help, I appreciate it.” “ No problem my dude, wanna live in our home?” I asked, I hoped that he will say “Sure.” he said “ YESSSS!” I screamed “ SHUT UP APH” Jay yelled at me “NO!” I yelled back “Don’t make me come back there” Alyssa said exasperated, We head back to our nest and then I remember I didn’t have a nest, so we head back to where we set up camp. I watch the people I sorta cared about work hard and many others were ill and injured, I saw leafcutter ants curled up and dead. Yikes, that is harsh, attacking after they took our nest. Everyone was relieved to see us, but we still didn’t have a home. Everyone was frantically running around, there were leaves everywhere, cobwebs tangled throughout the grass. I felt sad, not like when I was called a freak, but I felt true sadness. The jewels glowed again, I hope I’m right with what I’m about to do, [[Wish for shelter]] [[BE SELFISH and wish to be normal.]]

I wish we had a nest and everyone was healed.” a flash hit again and the nest reappeared. Everyone was healed and we marched back. The next morning the queen calls a colony meeting. “ I would like to thank Alex, Jay, Alyssa,Daniel, and Aph for saving us, I hope you will accept our offer to be our patrol or we could have you stay in the colony for safety.” “ We’ll take some time off to recover but we will become a patrol” I said. A scout ant runs in and screams “ WASPS! THEY ARE BUILDING A NEST A COUPLE BLOCKS AWAY!” he screamed [[Next->choice idkem]]
